Welcome to St Patrick’s Parish School, Cooma, in 2013.We are a Kindergarten to Year 10 Catholic school that has been delivering a holistic education to students on the Monaro for over 100 years. Gospel values underpin all that takes place at St Patrick’s as we enrich the spiritual, academic, social and physical development of the children entrusted to us. 2013 promises to unfold as another exciting and fulfilling year in the life of our great school. Our school vision statement at St Patrick’s is “A School with Altitude” which challenges every member of our school community to strive to achieve their best in whatever they do. This statement complements our motto “Strength in Gentleness” whereby in achieving our best we must be aware of our relationship and interaction with others around us. We promote an atmosphere at our school of mutual respect as an integral part of relationships in a Christ-centred environment.
Opportunities abound at St Patrick’s for your child to extend themselves through an extensive extra-curricular program. Children are encouraged by staff to become involved in areas of school activity that will continue to enrich them throughout their lives. Whether this involvement is in the arts, cultural pursuits, sporting endeavours or areas of personal growth, it is important that students feel open to developing their full potential. I invite you to have a look at our weekly newsletter to see the exciting array of opportunities available to our students. I would encourage you to visit our school and see for yourself “A School with Altitude” in action. Please feel free to contact me to arrange a mutually convenient time for a visit. The school may be contacted via email through office.stpatscooma@cg.catholic.edu.au Kind regards

What's the latest news at St Patrick's?2013 is in full swing already so don't forget to check this section of the school website on a regular basis for the latest news: Thank you to our P&F:Our Parents and Friends Association has made a very generous donation to the school of $22,000 to assist with recurrent expenditure and the acquisition of essential resources. These proceeds have largely come from the hard work that goes into fundraising by the P&F and I would encourage all members of the school community to continue to support their endeavours. Well done to our School LeadersOur 2013 school leaders attended the annual Leadership Day at Jindabyne Sport and Recreation Centre on Monday 25 March and by all accounts their enthusiasm and teamwork were outstanding. Congratulations to all involved and thank you to the accompanying teachers, Mr Kevin Dunne and Mr Mike Introna.
St Patrick's Day a great success! Our whole school celebrated St Patrick's Day with a moving liturgy followed by everyone being involved in tabloid sports activities at Rotary Oval. The interaction between students was a credit to all involved and made for a very memorable day. Thank you to Mrs Glenyce Moxon for coordinating the day's events! | |
